Ice Nine Kills invades Fort Wayne

Read Time:3 Minute, 13 Second

Ice Nine Kills brought their “Hip to be Scared” tour to world famous Piere’s in Fort Wayne Indiana to promote their current album Silver Scream 2, Welcome to Horrorwood to a sold-out show of 2000 plus fans from not only Fort Wayne, but Florida, Kentucky, Ohio and few other places as well, INK has a great following and their hard-core fans sure showed and showed out for them on this night.

Ice Nine Kills is an American heavy metal band from Boston Massachusetts signed to Fearless Records, they are huge horror movie fans and are best known for their horror inspired lyrics, formed in early 2000 by high school friends Spencer Charnas and Jeremy Swartz. Charnas is the only remaining original member. I have to say that this time seeing Ice Nine Kills I thought they stole the show they absolutely rocked the stage in front of the fans that showed to see them, they always dress in some type of horror movie themed outfits this time was no different, Spencer would come out to start the show and the band would follow soon after they played hits that the fans love “Hip to Be Scared” which featured Papa Roach’s Jacoby Shaddix which was derived from Huey Lewis “Hip to Be Square”. As well as some other fan favorites “The American Nightmare” and “Stabbing in the Dark”.

INK also brought with them great opening support, co-headlining the show was Bad Omens, an American metalcore band from Richmond, Virginia with Noah Sebastian as the front man, I had never heard this band before this show and I have to say they are different for sure but they seem to have a good following as well as fans who came to see Ice Nine Kills got a two for one and were able to take in the Bad Omens set.

Currents also on the bill came out kicking and screaming literally, with some energy to bring the crowd up and prep them for the headliners INK, the lead singer had some pipes able to belt out the screaming lyrics, but that’s what the fans want at a metal show and for sure is what they got. The first band that opened the show Fame on Fire yet another band that I had not heard of but when they started their set I was impressed they reminded me a little bit like Linkin Park mixed with some From Ashes to New two of my favorite bands so I was for sure intrigued and they had some good covers with a twist on them “Without Me” originally a Halsey track, Fame on fire put a good rock twist on it and I actually like both versions of this song. They closed the set with a cover of “Numb” from the great band named Linkin Park which really hit the fans as they felt the energy, and all knew that somewhere above Chester was looking down smiling.

Overall, it was a great night of some head banging, crowd participation metal music, started with Fame on Fire and capped off with Ice Nine Kills, if you have not had a chance to see INK live and in person you are missing out, check them out and I think you will become instant fans. Ice Nine Kills will be going on tour again with Motionless In White and Black Veil Brides on the Trinity of Terror Tour, check out any of those bands websites or social media sites for stops in a city near you. LIVE: MOTIONLESS IN WHITE IN FORT WAYNE

0 0
Read Time:1 Minute, 7 Second

In what was probably the most-anticipated show to hit Piere’s Entertainment Center in Fort Wayne, Motionless in White showed up to a sold-out crowd of all age fans

The energy was insane from the start of the show with support from Dying Wish, who got the crowd pumped and ready to go, getting the mosh pit going centerstage with an unrelenting and unforgiving sound of struggle.

Dying Wish is an extreme hardcore band with an infused punk spirit; vocalist Emma Boster belted out lyrics about the personal trauma and triumphs behind their songs and they were a great opening band to support Motionless in White.

Following them was Silent Planet, who brought more energy to the stage and smacked the packed house in the face with it as they got everyone’s heads banging- just in time for Motionless In White to finish the crowd off.

Motionless in White only fueled the energy the earlier bands put forward and it was nonstop from the time they stepped onto the stage until the music stopped and they did not disappoint.

Throwing in almost every major hit and song they have, Motionless In White made sure to make things worth it for the fans that paid their hard-earned money for the show and guaranteed they come back for the next show.
