Fozzy with special guests Seventh Day Slumber, Magdalene Rose and The Nocturnal Affair rolled into Angola, Indiana at the Eclectic Room with their Spotlight On North America Tour on Saturday October 21, 2023. There was “Nowhere to Run” as a line of fans gathered in front of the venue before the doors were opened. The light drizzle did not scare the crowd away from wanting to be one of the first into the building.
The Nocturnal Affair got things started for the night. Hailing from fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada, they brought their very unique sound to the stage. The band has an alternative rock vibe with undertones of industrial and dark rock. Ending on a fun note, they played the 1993 hit by Haddaway, What is Love!
Hitting the stage next was Magdalene Rose. The lead vocalist Maggie, is formerly of the all sister band GFM. Maggie leads the band with an extremely high energy and amazing vocals that can go from screaming to melodic and back again. The band has a heavy vibe and awesome breakdowns.
The final opening band of the night, Seventh Day Slumber, made a quick transition after Magdalene Rose, as they share the same drummer and guitarist. SDS is a rock band based out of Nashville, TN. They have been going strong in the rock scene for over 20 years. Lead vocalist Joseph Rojas speaks of a message of overcoming life’s adversity during their set, and shares a story of hope.
The crowd was ready to rock the rest of the night with Fozzy- as front man Chris Jericho welcomed their fans holding up a red solo cup to kick off their set. Chris was decked out in a cheetah print studded jacket and his custom Fozzy shoes. It’s always fun to see what outfits he wears on tour as they are always unique. Fozzy is one of the most talented and entertaining bands to watch-they love their fans and are there to not only play some great rock tunes, but they are there to show you a good time and are always successful in doing so. With Rich Ward aka The Duke on guitar and dancing around the stage, the amazing Grant Brooks on the drum kit, Billy Gray also on guitar and PJ Farley rocking the bass, you will have a blast at a Fozzy show, that is a guarantee.

Band of the Day Questions
Thanks for taking some time to chat with From the Green Room
1. What’s the name of the band?
Hello Green Room and thank you for your interested in our project. The name is VAYA.
2. Where are you from?
From all over the world:) VAYA is a growing community where artists can connect and created together. It started with our music in Canada. Then we worked with talented sound engineers in the USA for the postproduction and co-created videos for the music with Yumi SONODA based in Japan.
3. What type of music do you play?
VAYA started with a unique color of « rock » with the first album, and it tends to be more and more experimental focused on the sound and the intentions of the words than a clear stereotype structure of the song.
4. Introduce yourselves to the readers and tell us what you do in the band?
I am VAYA. Singer-composer of this wave. I just do my work as a messenger from the Ideas.
5. This is probably a common question but one that most want to know, what musical influences did you have growing up, and what are some now?
Yesterday was blues, psychedelic rock, rock, industrial, classical pieces, jazz. Today Mother Earth and human being are whispering into my ears colors, shivers, and so much more.
6. Have you always been into music? Was it something that just came to you naturally?
Yes. And Yes:) It defines my soul since a long long time ago.
7. What can we expect from the band in the rest of 2023 and beyond into 2024?
A live show in November in Toronto at El Mocambo Venue, downtown. Then I am studying and receiving new kind of « knowledges » to bring this blooming and infinite creative path on the next level. Normally after a winter of introspective work a new chapter appears in Spring:) We will see, I just go with the flow.
8. For someone who wants to know more about the band, were can they find you at? And where can they find your music?
We have a main website your ca go to,
https://www.vaya-official.com/

Band of the Day Questions
Thanks for taking some time to chat with From the Green Room
1.What’s the name of the band? Misery Lane
2.Where are you from? Ann Arbor, Michigan, US
3.What type of music do you play?
We like to say we play non-genre specific metal. We skirt the edge of where hard rock meets metal and beyond.
4.Introduce yourselves to the readers and tell us what you do in the band?
I’m Ken C Keller Jr. I’m the founder of the band. I am now the vocalist, the lead guitarist and main song writer.
5.This is probably a common question but one that most want to know, what musical influences did you have growing up, and what are some now?
Growing up my father liked to listen to classic rock and old Motown RnB. In my teen years I found old school thrash metal and that really spoke to me but musically I felt it was limiting so I branched out to the blues and country to continue to learn more about the instrument and how to fuse all those sounds into something I can call my own. These days I prefer dual guitar bands that don’t just play the same thing through the song but compliment each other to build a better dynamic in the song.
6.Have you always been into music? Was it something that just came to you naturally?
Honestly, I wish I had started playing sooner. My father tried to force me to play guitar and I hated it. After I joined the Marines, I had time to kill and picked it back up and taught myself how to play. And of course, that was back before YouTube, so it was ten times as hard as someone learning today. I do feel like playing is something that comes naturally, and I think the music reflects that. I generally write the music for all the instruments in a song and present It to the guys and say what do you think, and they make their changes from there.
7.What can we expect from the band in the rest of 2023 and beyond into 2024?
We will continue to play shows supporting our newest album “Red Balloon” and eventually settle down and finish recording our third album. We already have a few songs ready to go but as long as people want to hear the new stuff, we will continue to play it.
8.For someone who wants to know more about the band, were can they find you at? And where can they find your music?
First and foremost, you can check us out at our website: Miserylane.com. Our music is streaming wherever you listen to music.
9.Let’s answer some fun questions, what is your all-time favorite band?
All time, I would have to say Metallica. I know their more recent albums catch a lot of hate, but they have been able to persevere. They have had to deal with some things that normally rip bands apart, but they have been able to power through and even though they are getting up there in years they can still fill and rock a stadium without 10 other supporting bands. That speaks volumes to me.
10.If you could tour with any band and open or have them open for you, who would you choose?
Slipknot. The energy those guys and their fans have a live show would be awesome to join in on.
Thanks for chatting with me From the Green Room and look forward to chatting again in the future.

More on Fozzy: After touring the world and building a loyal fanbase for the better part of twenty years, Fozzy is the epitome of what a killer rock n roll band should be: catchy, groovy, hooky, sweaty, and most importantly, a GREAT EFFEN TIME!
With six consecutive TOP 20 singles, Fozzy is steadily becoming one of the most successful bands on Modern Rock Radio, with their breakthrough massive smash song “Judas” achieving Gold Record status of 500,000 units sold in February of 2022!
Rich Ward is one of the most versatile, talented riff machines & songwriters in rock n roll today. Chris Jericho’s skills as a frontman are second to none and his vocal style & range are both powerful and instantly recognizable. The spirited drumming of Grant Brooks compliments the blazing solos of Billy Grey and the rock star energy of bassist PJ Farley. These are five seasoned pros, whose electricity and charisma light up every stage they play on and every crowd they perform for. As a result, it’s no surprise that Fozzy has skyrocketed into one of the hottest rock acts in the world today.
The band inched up the ladder after releasing four progressively popular studio albums in the 2000’s. However, it was 2012’s “Sin and Bones”, which featured the hit single “Sandpaper” (over 4.6 MILLION views on YouTube) that found the band reaching a level of legitimacy that drew a mass audience to drink in their trademark heavy melodic groove. The album eventually reached #143 on the Billboard Top 200 Chart, but it was their next album, “Do You Wanna Start A War” (produced by Ward), released in the summer of 2014, that really blew the door open, debuting at #54 on Billboard and giving the band their first top 30 single in “Lights Go Out” which was blared in sports arenas nationwide.
But as much success as the band had enjoyed, nothing compared to the juggernaut of 2017’s “Judas” album. Released in May 2017, the aforementioned title track spent 5 weeks at NUMBER ONE on the highly influential ‘Big Uns Countdown’ on Sirius/XM’s Octane channel, amassed over 62 MILLION views for its video on YouTube, cracked the TOP 5 on the US Rock Radio Charts and is still heard by millions of fans worldwide weekly on TBS Network’s hugely popular “AEW Dynamite” program. The follow-up singles “Painless” hit Number 9 on the charts (11 MILLION views on YouTube), “Burn Me Out” peaked at Number 18. The current record “Boombox” features “Nowhere to Run” which cracked the Top Ten, “Sane”, (with its roller coaster themed video – one of the most thrilling & heart stopping ever made) landing at Number 8 followed by “I Still Burn” which peaked at #7, scoring a trifecta of singles for “Boombox” released May 6, 2022
Now, with those massive songs in their arsenal, Fozzy has returned to the road with tours in the US, UK, and Australia. After sharing the stage in recent years with Metallica, Kiss, Iron Maiden, Avenged Sevenfold, Shinedown, Slash, Three Days Grace, Nickelback, Steel Panther & Buckcherry, Fozzy is stoked to continue to bring good times and kick ass tunes to their fans around the world… and elsewhere!
So, get ready to experience the majesty and power of Fozzy LIVE once again and for Judas’ sake…please wear a helmet!
Fozzy is:
Chris Jericho – vocals
Rich Ward – guitars, vocals
Grant Brooks – drums
Billy Grey – guitars
PJ Farley – bass
More on Seventh Day Slumber: As a consistent force in the music industry for nearly 20 years, Seventh Day Slumber still performs over 150 dates per year. The band has brought a fresh new feel to their signature sound, creating the heaviest and most powerful music of their career. The title track of their 2022 album “Death by Admiration” was co-written with Telle Smith and features The Word Alive. Produced by Memphis May Fire’s Kellen McGregor, “Death by Admiration” debuted at #69 on the Billboard Top 200 and landed a top 25 position on Billboards Mainstream Rock Chart. The energy and momentum of their latest release led to several nationwide tours, including direct support for Fozzy on their upcoming “Save The World Tour” and Saliva’s recent winter tour. The band is currently back in the studio with Kellen McGregor working on their follow-up album, “Feasting on Vultures,” slated to drop on September 22nd. Check out www.seventhdayslumber.com for tour dates.
More on The Nocturnal Affair: The Nocturnal Affair is an alternative/dark rock project headed by
singer/songwriter Brendan Shane, from Las Vegas. The band’s crushing and melancholic musical style is an ode to darker alternative music torchbearers like Type O Negative, HIM, David Bowie, Gary Numan, and Nine Inch Nails. They capture a uniquely haunting sound steeped in downtrodden melodies enveloped in the darkness.
The band released their debut single, “Down”, on Earache Records in November of 2021, from their first album, (META)MORPHOSIS, which was produced by Grammy-nominated Disturbed bassist, John Moyer. To coincide with the release of the album in April of 2022, the band embarked on their first national tour opening for rock veterans, Fozzy. In the fall of 2022, The Nocturnal Affair hit the road again for shows with Beartooth, Gemini Syndrome, and Earshot. The group has performed alongside a wide array of artists from heavy metal heavyweights, like HELLYEAH, Asking Alexandria, and Pop Evil, as well as Industrial rockers My Life with The Thrill Kill Kult. They have toured with the vampiric act The 69 Eyes while also being accessible enough to share the stage with notable mainstream acts like 3 Doors Down and Black Stone Cherry.
Their latest single “It’s No Good” is their take on Depeche Mode’s chart-topping hit from ‘97. An homage to some of the music that made Nocturnal who they are. To coincide with this release, The Nocturnal Affair embarked on Spring and Summer tours with both Fozzy and Smile Empty Soul, respectively. “It’s No Good” has been climbing the SMR charts, breaking the Top 20 in only a few weeks. A follow-up single and further national touring is projected for this Fall.
Magdalene Rose is a master of metal, with an infectious energy and a fiercely devoted fan base. Her highly successful single, Shark Spray, is out now.

For one of the biggest and anticipated fall club tours, the Psycho Thunder tour featuring The Hu, Asking Alexandria and Zero 9:36 came to a sold out Piere’s Entertainment, in NE Indiana last Friday nite, the crowd defiantly showed up for the three acts that took the stage.
We kicked the show with Zero 9:36 who has really blossomed as an artist since the first time he played at Piere’s, even under the weather he still put on a great set for the crowd “Piere’s is one of my favorite places to play” Zero told the packed house. He played a full set of songs including the crowd favorite “Adrenaline.”
The Show kicked it up a notch with the heavy hitting Asking Alexandria, which consist of Danny Worsnop (Lead Vocals) Ben Bruce (Guitar), Cammron Liddell (Guitar), James Cassells (Drums) that formed in 2006. Asking Alexandria would take the stage and open “The Violence”, “See What’s Inside” and “Alone Again” to name a few off the set that they played.
The final act was everyone’s favorite Mongolian metal head The HU, who rocked the crowd, performing songs that the crowd seemed to know very well, playing their native instruments they put on a great show playing a full 75-minute set. You can tell they enjoy what they do and the crowd for sure loves them and the music
Disturbed a band that needs no introductions, as they have done so many times over the years brought the “Take Back your Life tour” to Ruoff Music Center in Noblesville, Indiana and what looked to be sold out crowd would not be disappointed.
On this tour they would bring along Breaking Benjamin and Ukrainian metal band Jinjer in support of the new album “Divisive“.
Jinjer would open the show, and if you have not seen this band live before you are in for a show, the lead vocalist Tetiana Shmailyuk’s vocal range that can go from melodic to a growling scream is amazing, the way she can belt out the lyrics to their songs such as “Pisces”, Tetiana puts in great effort for the set and feeds off the crowd’s energy.
Breaking Benjamin who always puts on a great show when they come to town, and of course if you are in attendance, you will probably be singing along with Ben as he loves to get the crowd involved with the set, and if you are a fan of the Breaking Benjamin then you probably have memorized the lyrics to their whole catalog. They would of course open with Failure and the set list would include Breath, Until The End, and they would end the set with I will Not Bow.
Finally, the band that most likely everyone was there to see Disturbed, for anyone who has seen Disturbed live knows they always bring some kind of pyro and for the Take Back Your Life tour it is no different from opening song to closing they had the fire, which is really cool but generates the heat for sure, can’t imagine the heat they feel on stage, but being the professionals they are it didn’t seem to faze them at all, they put on one heck of a show and all the times I have seen them live as a fan and as a photographer I have not been disappointed.
