Gothic sensation Contracult has just unveiled their latest EP, The Process, now available on all major platforms courtesy of the renowned Art is War Records.

In addition, the band has been added to the lineup for Maneframe Festival that is hosted by Ghostemane.
Tickets are available at https://brutalassault.cz/en/maneframe

This is the all-encompassing motive behind the 2-piece industrial metal band Contracult. Comprised of the scorching stylings of Travis Bacon and Nicholas Emde, the Los Angeles-based goth outfit has become a beacon for dark culture, creating a safe and reliable space for fellow outcasts.

Discussing themes of pain, mental health, kink/BDSM, queerness, and the discontent of artistry in the modern world, Contracult takes pride in offering something different, fresh, and hot to the touch. Having found themselves playing in a metal band dubbed White Widows Pact, Bacon and Emde realized their shared interest in industrial music’s big hooks and fierce guitars.

Although it wasn’t necessarily a popular sound, it fueled their fire. “Be the band you want to hear even if it’s contrary to what’s popular at the time. Be the contrary, contradict, Contracult,” notes the band. Today, Contracult has amassed thousands of monthly listeners across streaming platforms while exploding stages at Welcome to Rockville 2021Louder Than Life 2021, and Aftershock 2021.

Smashing racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, and xenophobia along the way, Contracult is currently cleaning its slate, releasing a series of remixes on their popularsongs for the rest of 2023. But what should we expect in the new year? A focused, darker, and evolved sound with inspiration from acts like NIN, Fear Factory, Ghostmane, Front Line Assembly, Ministry, Paradise Lost, and Type O Negative.

Kurt Deimer Releases New Single "Dance" on March 1, 2024; Announces Headline Tour Dates, Featuring Shows Alongside Tesla!

STREAM “DANCE” HERE

Kurt Deimer’s newest single, “Dance,” released today, March 1, 2024, is a testament to resilience and the ability to find inspiration in challenging circumstances. The single is a precursor to his highly anticipated debut album, And So It Begins.., slated for release later this year.

Kurt comments, “I boarded a Southwest flight in January of 2022. It was a last minute flight, and I was crammed against a window for a 4 plus hours. I convinced myself to endure this flight I was gonna to write a killer song.”

He continues, “’Dance’ is about life. It has its ups and downs. Life can be quiet and serene. Then it can be turbulent and stormy. It can create a war within your mind, heart and soul. We all have to teach ourselves to dance through the good and bad in life. Enjoy life. Embrace life, escape negativity before it consumes us. Writing this song helped me escape a bad situation on this flight. I did not let the circumstances consume me. I wrote ‘Dance’ to get me through it.”

Kurt’s resilience in converting a challenging situation into a creative triumph exemplifies the transformative power of music. “Dance” is a reminder to cherish life’s moments and embrace positivity.

In a world that seems to be spiraling out of control, Kurt Deimer is a man with a very clear mission: Work Hard, Rock Hard, Play hard and Spread positivity. In fact, his mantra could be summed up: “Take the high road, do the right thing, encourage others.” It sounds like a tall order these days in a world full of warring factions. And it’s an unusual mission for a singer/songwriter vocalist whose music could be described as hard rock, even heavy metal – genres that are not always synonymous with positivity.

Deimer, for his part, describes his work as good old fashioned rock and roll. “And it’s as good a vehicle as any for spreading good vibes” he says. “I’m here to encourage others to treat people with respect, dignity and kindness,” he says. “I’ve been through a lot of things in my life and I try to share that with others and be a beacon of hope for my listeners.”

That positivity and perseverance has paid off for the native of Cincinnati, Ohio. He’s not only launched a movie franchise, Hellbilly Hollow, by filming and starring in a feature length horror film of the same name. He’s also recorded more than two dozen songs with legendary producer Chris Lord-Alge (Green Day, James Brown and the Rolling Stones), his management team includes Brian Wheat, manager of TESLA who discovered him while opening for TESLA.

Chris Lord-Alge says he was drawn to Kurt’s originality as an artist. “I saw something completely different in Kurt, and that was the lure for me. He isn’t a typical rock or country artist – I love hearing him talk and narrating a story, and I was drawn to taking those stories and helping turn them into music. He’s a personality, he’s someone you want to talk to.”

Things have not always been positive in Deimer’s world. At age 20, as a young rock vocalist, he found himself in the grips of drug addiction. He later discovered he was using substances to medicate an underlying anxiety condition. At that young age, he quit drugs, got help for his anxiety and never looked back.

He eventually started buying and selling rental properties and used that money to start the first of several successful companies he owns. Despite making his mark in the business world, Deimer didn’t feel ready to settle down and “join the country club and play golf all day” – so at an age when most people start thinking about slowing down, he started to speed up.

Inspired by the artists that helped shape him – Boston, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bob Marley and AC/DC, to name just a few – he started writing song lyrics.

Inspired by his love of movies and acting roles in films including the 2018 ‘Halloween’ remake – where his character was killed by Michael Myers – and John Travolta’s ‘Trading Paint,’ he started hashing out a movie concept that became his eventual Hellbilly Hollow feature film and franchise.

Deimer has supported Geoff Tate on an expansive cross-country tour that highlighted material from his debut EP, that came out on November 19, 2021, which includes a duet with Tate and a trilogy of music videos directed by Scottish filmmaker Paul Boyd [Sting, Deadmau5, The Cult] that spotlight Deimer’s cinematic vision and charismatic presence. Along with many other supporting shows including TESLA, Drowning Pool and Yngwie Malmsteen all this within the first two years of touring.

For Deimer, the inspiration is to make the world a better place one song at a time, singing about the ills of the 21st century and offering solutions instead of excuses. “When people listen to my music, I want to help them decompress and feel better after a brutal day. That’s what music always did for me, and that’s what we need more of today.”

Classic Rock Meets Southern Grunge In New Summer Anthem “As The Light Fades”

Blacktop Mojo Releases New Single In Anticipation for Their Studio Album “Pollen”

“We wanted a lyric video to go along with “As The Light Fades” that represented the nostalgia of summer times past and how it felt to run wild and free.” – Matt James Lead vocals for Blacktop Mojo

Blacktop Mojo “As The Lights Fade” Official Lyric video

Los Angeles, CA (Friday, March 1st) – Blacktop Mojo releases “As The Light Fades” – a track totally unlike anything they’ve created before, to be followed by a full-length studio album, “Pollen”, on April 5th. “As The Light Fades” is a feel-good anthem and a passionate track that oozes with infectious energy of summer and young love.

Blacktop Mojo’s classic rock influences shine through with powerful guitar riffs, while their infamous ‘Southern grunge’ makes its mark in the vocals and twangy instrumentation.

“As The Light Fades” is a nostalgic look at young infatuation that turns into life-long love, from running inside when the streetlights come on all the way to the last tender kiss shared before crossing into The Great Beyond.” -Matt James, lead vocals for Blacktop Mojo

“As The Light Fades” definitely had all the feel good classic rock n’ roll vibes, a style we hadn’t really touched before in previous albums. We honestly couldn’t be happier with the result, especially after having Rob McNelly, who has played for Bob Segar add some guitar to it.”

– Matt Curtis, bassist for Blacktop Mojo

The origin of the song started in 2021 with a Bob Segar-style melody created by Matt Curtis and Matt James on the porch of their shared ‘band house’. In no time, it progressed into a full-on classic rock n’ roll hit, with additions from Rob McNelley (guitarist for Bob Segar, Dierks Bentley, Luke Bryan, Kenny Chesney, Eric Church, and Luke Combs) himself.

Opening lyrics, “Don’t change the channel don’t turn the page. We’re living in the sunset of a golden age,” demonstrate the talent of writers Matt James and Matt Curtis, while producer Philip Mosley layers in sounds reminiscent of rock influences, along with Blacktop Mojo’s special flare.

With inspirations ranging all the way from Alice In Chains, Soundgarden, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bill Withers, Stone Temple Pilots, to Bob Seger and Etta James, Blacktop Mojo’s music has elements of heavy rock, grunge, soul, blues, and a little splash of southern twang.

Make sure to catch Blacktop Mojo on tour from April to August, performing shows across the U.S. such as Richmond, Colorado Springs, and Pensacola.

About Blacktop Mojo

Mojo Described as a mix of Soundgarden and Lynyrd Skynyrd, Blacktop Mojo incorporates heavy, sludgy, rock mixed with sultry blues. Formed in late 2012 in the small town of Palestine, Texas by vocalist Matt James and drummer Nathan Gillis, Blacktop Mojo has coined the term “Texas Grunge” to describe their one-of-a-kind sound.

A unique blend of sludgy grooves, classic rock guitar riffs, and southern metal shredding sets Blacktop Mojo somewhere between dirty, heavy rock and roll mixed with sensual and carnal blues. Drawing on a multitude of genres and influences such as Alice In Chains, ZZ Top, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Tool, Bill Withers, Stone Temple Pilots, Bob Seger, to Etta James, Blacktop Mojo combines styles of the past with a modern edge for a totally unique sound that can only be experienced through listening.

After their debut album, “I Am” in 2014, the band stayed around Texas to record another album in 2017, “Burn The Ships”, which caused the guys to quit their day jobs and move into a small house together in Palestine, TX. Since then, the band has kept a relentless recording and touring schedule, filled with boundless creativity that has allowed them to create songs to reach the top 40 on both the Mediabase and Billboard Rock Chart. Catch Blacktop Mojo on tour to catch one of their unforgettable live shows across the U.S. in 2024.

MEDIA ALERT: P.O.D. Share “AFRAID TO DIE” (Feat. Jinjer’s Tatiana Shmayluk) Video — WATCH

P.O.D. SHARE VIDEO FOR "AFRAID TO DIE" (FEAT. JINJER'S TATIANA SHMAYLUK)

Platinum-selling rock juggernaut P.O.D. — Sonny Sandoval [vocals], Marcos Curiel [guitar], and Traa Daniels [bass] — kicked off the fall with the video for their new single “DROP,” which features a vicious vocal cameo from Lamb of God singer Randy Blythe. It earned quick press accolades from Metal Injection, Consequence, Revolver, Idioteq, The Pit, Yahoo!, and Knotfest.

Today, the band is back with another blast and is sharing the video for the equally eruptive single “AFRAID TO DIE,” featuring Jinjer vocalist Tatiana Shmayluk.

It’s an anthemic song with an edge — and the collaboration was born of P.O.D. and Jinjer’s Fall 2022 tour.

“‘AFRAID TO DIE’ is a combination of cryptic and triumphant melodies,” says Curiel. “It has storytelling rhymes and chugged verses, and a wide open, melodic yet semi-morbid, chorus. It’s anthemic In every sense of the word.”

He continues, “Our dear friend Tatiana Shmayluk offers her unique approach and we had incredible musical chemistry with her. This is P.O.D. hitting the human core of our existence and dealing with love, fear, integrity, and most of all, family and friends. It’s ultimately an abundance of love and life.”

ABOUT P.O.D.:
They’ve been a band — and a vital one at that — for more than 30 years. But ask rock icons P.O.D. what still inspires them after all this time, and they’ll tell you they still operate as if they’re perpetual underdogs. Yes, with every new album they release, with every show they play, these musical lifers still feel they have something to prove. “We’re still here and we’re still creating some of the best music we’ve ever made,” says guitarist Marcos Curiel. “When it comes to heart, grit and soul, P.O.D. is your band.” Adds vocalist Sonny Sandoval: “We’re always still proving who we are — always having that punk-rock mentality.”

It’s this mindset, this unrelenting grit that has long defined the platinum-selling P.O.D. and continues to do so as they march proudly into the next era of their long-winding journey of a career. Now, they are nearly five years removed from their previous studio album, Circles, which to date has been streamed more than 50 million times and spawned the hit “Listening to Silence.” Earlier this year, the band returned with new single “DROP.” The track is a sonic boom of a cut, and features a thrilling vocal turn from Lamb of God singer Randy Blythe. “Dude, it’s the sickest thing ever,” Curiel said of “DROP,” which was inspired by the guitarist’s longtime love of electronic music. “When that drop hits, everyone knows it,” he adds. “We needed to create a song in that way…P.O.D. style.”

P.O.D.’s audience has always been at the core of everything the band does, and to that end, their live shows remain essential to who they are. They’ve played major festivals including the Sick New World, INKcarceration and Hell and Heaven Fest, and have shared stages with the likes of KORN, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Evanescence and Seether.

About Hannah Ellis:Curb Records recording artist and country music singer/songwriter Hannah Ellis’ journey — and world — is one all can feel at home in. The Campbellsville, Kentucky-native’s voice — a mix of favorite flannel, sparkling pink wine and welcome — is the friend we always wanted. Whether pouring from a car radio or your phone, the act named to Rolling Stone Country’s “Artist To Watch” list reminds you big leaps often come as a series of small steps when no one is looking. Having paid for her University of Kentucky degree with her full-ride scholarship, she — with the full support of her family — started chasing her dreams. Like so many, that meant a self-financed EP, and moving to Nashville to begin the endless rounds of writers nights, meetings, making friends, and trying to find your way. Hannah paid her dues, kept her focus and kept moving towards something she was sure she felt and knew was right. The fresh-faced songwriter, who has 42 million career streams, has since written songs recorded by artists, and been featured as a vocalist on songs, spanning multiple genres, including: Russell Dickerson, Carly Pearce, FOR KING + COUNTRY, Emily Weisband, Cassadee Pope, FILMORE, and Sidewalk Prophets. The magnetic artist, who has appeared on the Grand Ole Opry multiple times since making her debut, has toured with Carly Pearce, Billy Currington, Gavin DeGraw, Dwight Yoakam, Devin Dawson, and many others, and has toured as part of the CMT “Next Women of Country” Tour. Ellis was invited back by her college alma mater to be featured in a national television advertising campaign about pursuing and achieving your dreams. Hannah is one of the “CMT LISTEN UP” artists to watch for 2023. Her current radio single, “Wine Country,” and recently released “Karma on the Rocks,” are available now.
