Interview With the Kyle Jordan Project

1. What’s the name of the band?

We’re called The Kyle Jordan Project. Pretty straightforward—it started with me, Kyle, and then
grew into this collaborative beast of a band. I still take on the role as the executive producer –
similar to Mark Ronson, DJ Kahled, or Alan Parsons.

2. Where are you from?

I’m from Victoria, B.C., but the band is spread out a bit. This makes the recording process a bit
more remote, but it works for us. Playing live and touring just means a bit of extra planning.

3. What type of music do you play?

We’re modern rock with a twist. Think heavy guitar-driven sound, but we mix in elements of folk,
blues, and Americana. It's like if Imagine Dragons, The Glorious Sons, and 21 Pilots had a jam
session and invited some old-school roots vibes to the party.

4. Introduce yourselves to the readers and tell us what you do in the band.

I’m Kyle Jordan May—I handle songwriting, producing, drums, some of the guitars, and
occasional vocals. Greg Van Kerkhof is my right-hand guy, working on songwriting and bass.
Then there’s Erick Gerber, my other right-hand guy, he’s a creative powerhouse in the writing
and producing department. He’s also the best guitar player I have ever met.

5. This is probably a common question but one that most want to know, what musical
influences did you have growing up, and what are some now?

Growing up, it was my Dad’s music like: Janis Joplin, Zeppelin, The Stones, Nickelback, April
Wine, Green Day (Amazing that my Dad was a Green Day fan before me) and of course Three
Dog Night. My mom was a Christian recording artist, so I had that gospel and worship influence
too: Ken Holloway, Chris Tomlin, etc. Nowadays, I’m digging artists like Noah Kahan, Greta Van
Fleet, The Pretty Reckless, Maneskin and even some blues-inspired stuff. It’s all over the
place—good music is good music.

6. Have you always been into music? Was it something that just came to you naturally?

Music’s always been part of my life. I was playing drums in church as a kid, then transitioned
into bars when I got older. It felt natural, but it’s also something I worked hard at. Music was my
outlet, especially when life got heavy—like dealing with a brain tumor. It became a way to process everything.

7. What can we expect from the band in the rest of 2024 and beyond into 2025?

We’re building momentum! Our latest single, Demons, just dropped, and it’s all about
struggles—whether they’re inner or external. After that, we’ve got more singles lined up: Like “Tall Blonde Honey” slated for release on January 21 st , 2025. A tour in 2026 is also in the works. We’re all about connecting with people, whether it’s through a song, a live show, or both.

8. For someone who wants to know more about the band, where can they find you at? And where can they find your music?

We’re on all the usual spots—Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, Amazing Radio, you name it. Just search The Kyle Jordan Project. Follow us on socials too; we’re always posting updates, behind-the-scenes stuff, and whatever random thing pops into our heads.

9. Let’s answer some fun questions, what is your all-time favorite band?

Man, that’s tough. If I had to pick one, probably Zeppelin. They’re untouchable. I’m also a big fan or The Pretty Restless, 21 Pilots, The Glorious Sons and Maneskin. If we ever had the chance to collaborate with Jessie Murph, Courtney Hadwin, or Jelly Roll I’d jump at it!

10. If you could tour with any band and open or have them open for you, who would you choose?

Imagine opening for The Glorious Sons—that would be insane. Or maybe doing a co-headliner with someone like Imagine Dragons. Either way, it’d be epic.

Thanks for chatting with me, From the Green Room. Looking forward to doing this again
sometime soon!

SoftWave Releases “Will it ever be Christmas”

SoftWave Releases “Will it ever be Christmas”

About the Xmas single…
2 years ago, SoftWave released their first ever Christmas song, ‘Will It Ever Be Christmas Again?’. It is probably the first time in Danish music history that a Danish Christmas synth-pop song has been released.

Leading up to the completion of their 2nd album “things we’ve done” which won silver at ISSA AWARDS 2024 in Atlanta, Jerry Olsen (SoftWave’s producer) sat in the studio and played with a bell sound, which captured him so much that it unintentionally ended up with the creation of SoftWave’s first Christmas song! With less than 2 months until December 1st, they chose to co-write with a former collaboration partner from Great Britain, Barney Ashton-Bullock.

He is a playwright, poet and
librettist in the project ‘Andy Bell is Torsten’ alongside Erasure’s Andy Bell (see p.3). Barney has previously invited SoftWave to produce 2 remixes for Andy Bell’s sold-out LP (‘Club Torsten’) which ended up on the UK OFFICIAL ALBUM CHARTS in the good company of Vince Clarke (founder of Erasure, Yazoo, Depeche Mode).

SoftWave are known for their uplifting electronic pop music that is inspired by classic English synth- pop with its prominent synthesiser sounds. In this Christmas song, SoftWave’s singer (Catrine Christensen) chose to duet with Barney, who also wrote the lyrics. Together they created the ultimate and most beautiful Christmas atmosphere, seasoned with Jerry’s delicious production and jingle bell sounds.

Jerry & Catrine deliver a sparkling glitter wrapped present for our delight, Catrine’s beautiful vocal overlays Jerry’s sublime backing, it’s a brand new song yet the feel of it seems to make you believe it’s a Christmas staple, welcoming & familiar, as if it’s been around forever. And then Barney’s vocal kicks in, bringing a whole new dimension.

”– Erasure4rum.com

SoftWave (bio)

SoftWave is a Danish synth-pop duo, established in 2014 by singer Catrine Christensen and producer
Jerry Olsen without any musical background. Their big visions, uplifting sound and catchy chorus
have taken them far. They have been recognised by great synth pioneers such as OMD, Andy Bell
(Erasure), Chris Payne (ex Visage), Ian Burden (ex Human League) and others.

SoftWave made two all new ‘Electro-Noir’ style remixes for my ‘Club Torsten!’ album and I loved
their strong retro inspired synth melodies the first time I heard them and the way Catrine’s vocals

weave in and out so deftly is just gorgeous!.

Andy Bell, Erasure

SoftWave’s career started with the review of one of their demos in the Danish music magazine
GAFFA. After the release of the debut album ‘Game On’ (2019), it really took off with chart
positions, concerts and radio airplay both at home and abroad (DR P4 etc.).

There’s a bit of Erasure about this SoftWave song, Something Is Missing.”

P4 AFTEN, Danmarks Radio

SoftWave are kicking off 2025 by visiting the UK again! They’ve been nominated as BEST ELECTRO ACT at the Radio Wigwam Awards 2025! You can vote for the band, once a day right here: https://radiowigwam.co.uk/awards_voting/ and tickets can be found here: https://www.trybooking.com/uk/events/landing/71844

Saliva knocks acoustic set out of the park at Podcast & Pours 4

Podcast and Pour’s 4 kicked off at the Elixir in downtown Orlando, and From the Green Room was live on location catch it. The show featured podcast the BS Podcast, aka Jason Bailey a radio personality that had spent close to 20 years in the Orlando at WJJR rock station, who has recently come back the Orlando area. The BS Podcast now a syndicated show and is featured on WJJR and they replay a condensed version on Saturdays, this being the fourth Podcast & Pours he wanted to book a national band, and Saliva came to mind as a great act to book for this event. In support Jason Bailey also brought along longtime friends of the show Distinct Grace, along with a special appearance by local Orlando artist Riley Resa.

The show kicked off with some podcast shenanigan’s hosted by none other than Jason Bailey of the BS Podcast, and also with long time show guest members of Distinct Grace, then Distinct Grace would open up the musical portion with some originals and some covers with an acoustic set, along with a special appearance from Riley Resa who would perform about 4-5 songs.  The set would conclude, and the headliner would come out.

Saliva would take the stage to perform their acoustic set, for a band that does not do acoustic sets a lot, nor did they rehearse they killed it. With a mix of covers from Alice in Chains, Phil Collins and others, along with some of their hits and even a few rare songs that are not heard during live performances in a few years.  Saliva even opened the show with an acoustic version of “ladies and Gentleman” mixed in a few other songs that you would not expect to hear acoustically but were glad you got a chance to, and few kick ass mashups.  For not doing a lot of acoustic sets, Saliva kicked ass on this show, if you get the opportunity to catch Saliva perform an acoustic set don’t miss it.

3. What type of music do you play?
We play post-punk music, influenced by 90s alternative and punk music
4. Introduce yourselves to the readers and tell us what you do in the band?
I’m the lead singer, Jin
5. This is probably a common question but one that most want to know, what musical
influences did you have growing up, and what are some now?
My absolute favourite bands growing up were Garbage and Nirvana. I still love
them both! Nowadays I tend to listen to a lot of dark wave and synth wave, like Boy
Harsher or New Order. I love a bit of that industrial noise.
6. Have you always been into music? Was it something that just came to you
naturally?
I played classical piano as a child until my teenage years, and sang in choir in
school. The piano helped familiarize me with song structure and melodies. I started
writing music myself at age 22, at a piano (later, a keyboard).
7. What can we expect from the band in the rest of 2023 and beyond into 2024?
We just released a single, “Vows” October 1st. We’ve got another single, “Biodome”

Wow that’s a really difficult question. Probably Garbage or New Order.

10. If you could tour with any band and open or have them open for you, who would
you choose?
I’d love to open for an OG band like Bauhaus or Tears For Fears!
Thanks for chatting with me From the Green Room and look forward to chatting

MELON KALI’Flagship’

MELON KALI 'Flagship’

Ahead of the release of their upcoming, energetic new single ‘Flagship’ the band uncover how it
came together “We did a writer’s camp with the band, and normally we jam together and record that
so we can work that out later. This time, we wanted to try something else. Everybody came up with a
word and Vivian made the lyrics out of that with melody in a separate room. Then we came back
together again and she sang the chorus of ‘Flagship’, and the rest followed. The band immediately

had a vibe and idea which fitted perfectly for the song.”

On the important meaning behind the track, Melon Kali explain how ‘Flagship’ is “about an
outstanding woman in the club. She inspires all the other people in the room to dance but nobody
dares to come near her. She is the one everyone is looking up to. This song is a nod to female

empowerment, we treat all women like flagships.”

Melon Kali are a Dutch group, featuring singer Vivian Tarmidi and producer/bassist Marc Sokpolie.
They had been making songs in a self-wrought style on the fringes of R&B and Boogie Funk, which

they wanted to hear more of, but it didn't seem to exist yet. Their first single ‘Insane’ was released in

2016 and it was immediately picked up by multiple Spotify playlists.

Their first album ‘888 Fears’ came out in 2023, which is when they played their first live show in
Amsterdam. Since then, the group has grown to a power quintet, with Stan de Kwaadsteniet on keys,
Davy Henket on drums and Lévy Simon on guitar. The band is heavily influenced by the likes of
Stevie Wonder, Prince, Sly Stone, but also Victoria Monét, Cleo Sol, Anderson. Paak & The Free

Nationals and The Internet.

Songs spring to life in the group’s extended writer camps, where all the members experiment in the
Boogie Funk laboratory. Following ‘Flagship’, in the new year Melon Kali will unleash a fresh new
album called ‘Lilac & Lime Green’. Filled with carefully sourced R&B, soul, funk, and emotion, the
first singles from this new effort, ‘If You Only Knew’ and ‘Flower Fields’ have been well received.
Their new single ‘Flagship’ will leave its listener instantly wanting more from the band, and on
January 29th 2025, Melon Kali will appease that request with the release of ‘Lilac & Lime Green’!

TSS Share "DEAD!" (Feat. CVLTE) Video

FRENCH METAL BAND TSS (FORMERLY THE SUNDAY SADNESS) SHARE VIDEO FOR “DEAD!”(FEAT. CVLTE)

FEARLESS RECORDS recently welcomed French metal alchemists TSS (formerly The Sunday Sadness) to the label’s global roster.

The band has steadily built a reputation with its innovative blend of emo, metalcore, alternative rock, and synthwave. They’ve recently added elements of phonk and neo-metal to their sonic blend. The band was founded in 2016 by Kirby, who sought to combine his emo and metalcore roots into a fresh new sound. The band quickly solidified its lineup with John on guitar and vocals, and Hugo on Drums.

TSS bring the synths and the riffs on their new song “DEAD,” featuring Japanese group CVLTE. The song gets an added dose of heat from the layered vocals and lyrics which are partially sung in the band’s native French language. All of these elements make for a truly cross-cultural metalcore anthem that cycles through multiple moods and tempos, as well as different genres, like pop and nu metal, in the space of a few minutes. The guitars have infinite girth, while the catchy chorus “I’m addicted to the pain” will wrap around your cerebral cortex and stay there. The quiet-loud dynamics and the industrial crunch that defines the closing breakdown are as explosive as it gets. TSS will take you to plenty of musical spaces and places on “DEAD.”

“Our new single, ‘DEAD!,’ marks a turning point for us,” the band states. “After years of mutually admiring each other’s work and wanting to evolve the emo scene on our respective continents, we’ve finally joined forces with the Japanese band CVLTE. Since 2019, we’ve been exchanging, sharing our inspirations and visions for the future of the genre.”

TSS further say, “‘DEAD!’ is the fruit of this unique collaboration: a song that blurs boundaries, fusing our influences and musical identities to redefine what alternative rock music can be today. This collaboration goes beyond music; it represents the union of two worlds passionate about alternative genre, fueled by two different cultures.”

Regarding the accompanying video, the band says, “Shooting the video here in Europe, with [singer] Aviel by our side, was a powerful experience, symbolizing the culmination of several years of connection and creation. The result of this teamwork is DEAD! A powerfull hit radio song about toxic relationships, that mixes trap, metalcore, and cloud rap. In addition to the music, we have forged a strong friend relationship with CVLTE. This collaboration is just the beginning of long series of other featuring between the two bands.”

It follows “Killing Me,” their debut single for their new label. The visual is inspired by The Matrix and ’00s-era horror films, and it will transport you to the glory days of aughts art.

MOLOTOV SOLUTION Continue Their Relentless Resurgence with a New Anthem of Oppression; “Mortis Imperium”

MOLOTOV SOLUTION Continue Their Relentless Resurgence with a New Anthem of Oppression “MORTIS IMPERIUM”

Friday, November 22nd, 2024 – Las Vegas, NV – Following their explosive comeback earlier this month with “Devour The Children,” Molotov Solution, the politically charged deathcore stalwarts, return with their latest single, “Mortis Imperium.” Picking up where their previous release left off, this new track dives deeper into the brutal cycles of ideological resurgence and the cold, systematic exploitation of humanity. Fans can stream the new single HERE and watch the official music video HERE.

Speaking on the release of their second new single, Molotov Solution frontman, Nick Arthur states,

“With ‘Mortis Imperium,’ we dive into the cyclical resurgence of oppressive ideologies and the brutal reality of systemic exploitation. This track draws parallels between ideology and faith, painting a stark picture of humanity as simply fuel for the war machine. While our first single ‘Devour the Children’ confronts betrayal in the pursuit of power with melody and madness, ‘Mortis Imperium’ leaves listeners with a haunting reminder of government-sponsored death conveyed through unrelenting drum grooves, punishing riffs, and back-breaking heaviness.”

Molotov Solution’s 2011 album, Insurrection, is widely regarded as one of the most influential deathcore releases of its time,

shaping the genre for years to come. Sadly, the band went on indefinite hiatus after its release leaving a huge influence but a

gaping hole in deathcore genre. On November 1st, they emerged from a decade-long hiatus with their powerful new single, “Devour The Children” a brutal and rageful statement of intent heralding the band’s timely resurrection. Known for their fearless approach to exposing corruption and power struggles through their music, Molotov Solution’s voice is more vital than ever, delivering an unflinching soundtrack to the turbulent times we face with the fierce intent to challenge and resist.

Continuing a legacy of fearless commentary and crushing musicality, Molotov Solution give voice to the defiant and the dispossessed through their unique and hyper-influential brand of deathcore. With plenty more to come, “Mortis Imperium” is another bold step in this renewed chapter of Molotov Solution, leaving no doubt that the band is back and more furious than ever.

ABOUT MOLOTOV SOLUTION

Molotov Solution returns in 2024, reawakened after a decade of silence with a renewed fire and an uncompromising vision. Known for their politically charged, ferociously heavy sound, the Las Vegas-based band is ready to reclaim their position at the forefront of extreme music. With a legacy built on confronting societal corruption, power struggles, and injustice, their return is a statement: the fight isn’t over, and neither are they.

Molotov Solution has always been more than just a deathcore band. They are a voice for those who resist, a sonic assault against the systems that oppress. As they step into this new chapter, they carry with them the same relentless energy that defined their past but with a sharpened edge and a deeper urgency. In a world that seems more chaotic and fractured than ever, their music is not just relevant—it is essential.

Fans can expect new music that continues to push boundaries, both sonically and lyrically. Their signature blend of heavy, gut-punching riffs and politically infused messages will drive their upcoming releases, which promise to be as intense and confrontational as ever.

With new music and renewed determination, Molotov Solution are ready to unleash a new era of heavy music that will resonate with old fans and new alike.

Bury Tomorrow Announce New Album “Will You Haunt Me, With That Same Patience” + Share Video For New Single “What If I Burn”

0 0
Read Time:2 Minute, 54 Second

BURY TOMORROW ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM WILL YOU HAUNT ME, WITH THAT SAME PATIENCE

ALBUM ARRIVES MAY 16

NEW SINGLE “WHAT IF I BURN” OUT NOW

For Bury Tomorrow, the last two years have been about trying to fill the space where they knew something was missing.

From the depths of uncertainty, through line-up changes, and COVID-inspired road blocks, the arrival of guitarist Ed Hartwell and keyboardist/vocalist Tom Prendergast and the creation of 2023’s The Seventh Sun has allowed them to lay out a whole new path of possibilities that felt unavailable before.

Now, with an invigorated belief and fresh outlook on what the band can encompass, they present Will You Haunt Me, With That Same Patience, their most fantastically visceral offering to date. Pre-save/pre-order it here.

Crafted more intimately and intricately than ever before by internalizing every aspect of the writing process, with Carl Bown [Sleep Token, Bullet For My Valentine, While She Sleeps] manning production duties for the first time, the result is a profoundly personal, extraordinarily expansive and punishingly grand display of cathartic craftsmanship.

Born from a shared sense of frustration in feeling an ever-shifting disconnect from the state of modern society, the band have created an earnest, heart-wrenching and definitive look at the overlapping effects of brutal self-sabotage, crippling anxiety, fierce despondency and the never-ending search for peace and clarity in a world so full of noise. It is a record about division as much as togetherness, an outpouring of personal devastation but a hopeful reminder that we are all navigating it together.

Atmospherically stirring new single, “What If I Burn,” centers on the tricks that our mind plays on our perception of existence, interactions and connections.

Watch the music video here.

“To haunt is to revisit or recur persistently to the consciousness of someone or something,” explains guitarist Kristan Dawson. “There’s beauty in that commitment somewhat. In a world full of distraction, discourse, instancy and demand, patience seems hard to attain. In patience, there is peace, one thing society is short of. The title serves as a call of reflection, relying on the present moment, remembering what truly matters. I think the notion of patience being haunting is quite a contrast and that’s certainly reflective of the album musically.”

Within such deep sonic exploration and shared emotional understanding, and despite its bleak outlook on things, Will You Haunt Me With That Same Patience still strives to represent that lingering presence, that hope, that reminds us that this isn’t the be-all and end-all of this existence. That things can change for the better, just like we can change for the better with it, and persevering through such separation will bring us back around eventually. We just have to weather the storm and trust in that feeling to pull us through.

To have allowed themselves the time and space to reach this point of comfort and confidence now feels like a starting point for everything that the band will do in the future. Expanding their empire in all corners of the world and delivering their biggest statement of intent to date is the beginning of a whole new chapter in the story of one of the most devastating and dedicated assets to British heavy music

POP EVIL RELEASE “DEATHWALK” VIDEO

BAND CURRENTLY TOURING WITH BAD WOLVES THROUGH NOVEMBER

Modern rock powerhouse POP EVIL follow their scorching single “What Remains” with new, dark track “Deathwalk,” produced by Zach Jones & KJ Strock.

The band shared the cinematic music video, directed by Sam Shapiro. Fans will plunge into the dark, fragmented landscape of lead singer Leigh Kakaty‘s psyche, unraveling the thin line between self-identity and survival. Kakaty confronts existential questions of his own mortality and legacy.

“We are the accused, the guilty, the damned,” the singer says about the harrowing track. “At the end of our ‘Deathwalk,’ judgment awaits. Are you at peace with what you will leave behind?”

Pop Evil returned in August by showcasing their new sound with single “What Remains.” It was produced by Wage War’s Cody Quistad and serves as the dawn of a new era for Pop Evil, which the band promises will be its most sonically heavy. “What Remains” currently sits at No. 8 on the Mainstream Active Rock Chart.

The six-time RIAA gold-certified band, plus newly platinum-certified track, “Torn to Pieces,” is gearing up for its forthcoming eighth studio album, set for release in Spring 2025.

Pop Evil are currently finishing up the final dates of The Animal Instinct Tour with Bad Wolves. Sierra Pilot and Oni are serving as support. All remaining tour dates are below

Kakaty previously confirmed the band’s new lineup, saying, “We are also proud to officially announce the newest member of the Pop Evil lineup — Blake Allison.” Allison is replacing departed member Hayley Cramer on drums, joining Kakaty and fellow bandmates, guitarists Dave Grahs and Nick Fuelling, and bassist Joey “Chicago” Walser.

The band’s 2013 album Onyx put them in the Top 40 of the Billboard 200 for the first time and boasted three consecutive No.1 rock songs, two RIAA Gold Singles, and one Platinum Single with “Torn to Pieces.” Pop Evil’s next release, Up, was the No.1 Independent Album in America and made it to #25 on the Billboard 200. It featured several Top 5 rock songs and a chart-topper with “Footsteps,” which also went Gold.

Pop Evil’s 2018 self-titled set included the No.1 hit and newly certified Gold single “Waking Lions” and two other Top 10 hits. 2020’s Versatile, meanwhile, scored two No.1 rock songs: “Breathe Again” and “Survivor.” In 2023, the band released its seventh studio album Skeletons, which spawned their eighth and ninth No.1 singles: “Eye of the Storm” and “Skeletons.”
