Band of the Day Questions

Thanks for taking some time to chat with From the Green Room

1. What’s the name of the band?

Hello From the green Room readers, our band’s name is Victor Sierra.

2. Where are you from?

We’re based in Paris France Europe.

3. What type of music do you play?

Our music has been labeled ‘SteamGoth’. We’ve got a Steampunk universe mixed with
Industrial/Gothic music.

4. Introduce yourselves to the readers and tell us what you do in the band?

I’m Commander Bob, I play guitar and other instruments. I write all our songs. Then there is The
Legendary Princess who sings and Piløt X-Ray, our half alive third member who is charge of the
computers’ stand behind us on stage.

5. This is probably a common question but one that most want to know, what musical
influences did you have growing up, and what are some now?

Victor Sierra is our own artistic melting pot. I mean we have had and still have many
different influences. Not exclusively musical but from everything: cinema, painting, politics,
cryptic encoded messages, computer science, literature, martial arts, poetry and nightmares.

6. Have you always been into music? Was it something that just came to you naturally?

I think I was a musician before actually deciding to be one. I’ve always had music in my head. If
you listen carefully to our lyrics, you’ll certainly find out about things I don’t even know myself.
Secrets play a big part in our universe.

7. What can we expect from the band during 2025?

We are to release a new single soon with Deadfall management’s help. And we’ll
certainly hit the road before the end of the year. Stay tuned!

8. For someone who wants to know more about the band, where can they find you at? Where
can they find your music?

We have all our socials gathered in our linktree page: linktr.ee/victorsierraband
We’re of course on every existing streaming platforms, but the most common one is
Spotify. And it’s the one promoters visit first. So please use it!

9. Let’s answer some fun questions, what is your favorite band of all time?

I think we’ve never had a favorite one. Even less ‘of all time’. I’m awfully sorry not being
able to answer this question. No I’m not. Just kidding. But it’s true. No favorite band.

10. If you could tour with any band, who would you choose and why?

A bit the same answer. We’re ready to tour with any band if we can have a good relationship with
them. I hate competition between bands. Thank you for the interview guys. I hope to chat with you
soon!

Interview With the band Zayd

0 0
Read Time:3 Minute, 51 Second

Interview with the Band Zayd

1. What’s the name of the band?

I perform under my name, Zayd, but my music is more than just a solo act—it’s a movement.
While I write, record, and produce everything myself, when I perform live, I bring in a full band
to create an immersive, high-energy experience.

2. Where are you from?

I’m from Canada, specifically Saskatchewan—the coldest part of the country. It’s not exactly a
hotspot for rock and metal, but that hasn’t stopped me from carving my own path in the genre.

3. What type of music do you play?

My music blends rock and metal with deep emotional storytelling. It’s intense, raw, and
unfiltered. I mix heavy, hard-hitting riffs with haunting melodies, bringing together aggression
and vulnerability in a way that resonates with people who have struggled, fought battles within
themselves, or sought redemption. My sound is influenced by bands like Alter Bridge, Breaking
Benjamin, Linkin Park, Skillet, Bullet For My Valentine, and Bring Me The Horizon.

4. Introduce yourselves to the readers and tell us what you do in the band?

I’m Zayd, and I do it all—vocals, guitars, songwriting, and recording. I started as a guitarist and
played with multiple bands, but they kept breaking up, which led me to become a solo artist. It’s
a rare thing in the rock and metal scene, but I embrace it as my strength. Every song I write is
personal—rooted in my struggles, faith, and the fight between darkness and light. When I
perform live, I bring a full band to make sure the energy hits just as hard as the recordings.

5. This is probably a common question but one that most want to know, what musical
influences did you have growing up, and what are some now?

My love for heavy music started early. My mom introduced me to Metallica and Iron Maiden,
and that foundation never left me. But the real turning point was Linkin Park’s “Hybrid
Theory”—it showed me that music wasn’t just something to listen to, but something to feel. It
made me realize music could be a voice for struggles and emotions. Over the years, my biggest
influences have been Alter Bridge, Breaking Benjamin, Skillet, Bullet For My Valentine, and
Bring Me The Horizon. They each taught me something different, whether it was melody,
intensity, or emotional depth.

6. Have you always been into music? Was it something that just came to you
naturally?

Yes, music has always been part of my life. Even as a kid, I connected with it in a deep way.
When I picked up a guitar, it felt natural—I was drawn to creating music, not just listening to it.
However, my journey wasn’t smooth. After years of playing in bands that fell apart, I almost
gave up. In 2015, my now-wife encouraged me to find my voice, and in 2017, I met Mark
Tremonti (Alter Bridge, Creed), who gave me the advice that changed my career:
“Let the world decide where your music belongs. Don’t hold back.”
That moment ignited my passion again, and I haven’t looked back.

7. What can we expect from the band during 2025?

2025 is all about growing the Unity Tribe (my fanbase) and working on new music. I also want
to explore more collaborations and keep pushing my sound further.

8. For someone who wants to know more about the band, where can they find you at?
Where can they find your music?

You can find everything here:
 Music Streaming: https://lnk.to/deceitanddesecrate
 Website: https://www.thisizzayd.com/
 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thisizzayd/
 YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/thisizzayd/
 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/thisizzayd/

9. Let’s answer some fun questions, what is your favorite band of all time?

That’s a tough one, but Alter Bridge has been one of my biggest inspirations. Mark Tremonti’s
guitar work and Myles Kennedy’s vocals have influenced my playing, songwriting, and approach
to storytelling.

10. If you could tour with any band, who would you choose and why?

If I had to pick three bands to tour with, it would be:
1. Alter Bridge – Their live energy is next level, and it would be a dream come true to share
a stage with Mark Tremonti.
2. Breaking Benjamin – Their mix of melody and heaviness aligns perfectly with my sound.
3. Bring Me The Horizon – They push musical boundaries, and their stage presence is
unreal.
These bands aren’t just influences; they represent different aspects of what I bring to my music—
emotion, heaviness, and anthemic energy.

OF LIMBO Share Homage To Van Halen with “Finish What Ya Started”

OF LIMBO Share Homage To Van Halen With “Finish What Ya Started”

Of Limbo are sharing a fun new homage to Van Halen with their acoustic version of the classic  “Finish What Ya Started”

It’s the 2nd release from the California band off their upcoming “Unplugged” album, which will be released this summer.

The band’s Jake Davies says “Jason Klein (formerly of Butcher Babies), our “Unplugged” bassist, brought us this one and we knew we had to do it. Van Hagar at their best! It’s a true “hound-dog” masterpiece.  We would never try to improve on their perfection. But we did take a couple liberties with the song here and there!”

The “Finish What Ya Started” video was directed by Brandon Vancour and filmed at OF LIMBO’s home studio in Long Beach. Jake explains We just wanted to have fun and recreate the classic Van Halen video. We played around a little bit to make it a version our fans have come to expect. Other than that, we just followed their lead and hit up a couple babes (Internet sensations Heather Leather and Lindsey Ferrari) to dress up like rocker cowgirls while we danced around and sang along. There might have been some tequila involved…”

The band is ramping up their live shows to celebrate on release day for the song.  More dates are currently being booked to support the album release.

Live Shows

Friday, April 18th @ 4th Street Vine – Long Beach, CA  (Acoustic)
        Saturday, May 3rd @ The 3 Clubs – Hollywood, CA (Full band/Electric)

About OF LIMBO:

Brothers Jake and Luke Davies were raised in Melbourne, Australia – but relocated to Long Beach, CA to further their music career in the states. The band pride themselves on making every show a party with their unique take on Heavy Rock N’ Roll. Kevin Martin of Candlebox says “OF LIMBO is the last dangerous Rock N’ Roll band you f*&^rs will ever see live”. OF LIMBO play 100+ shows per year, and have toured nationally with Wolfmother, Hinder, Candlebox, Buckcherry, Joyous Wolf, and Blue Oyster Cult, among others.  Their high-energy performances create an electric atmosphere that is infectious, making it impossible not to have fun.

OF LIMBO released “Joke’s On You” in early 2025, as a follow-up to 2024’s “Estrada”.  They saw their profile raised significantly with “California Demon” in 2023, which saw the song placed on all major DSP platforms on multiple Hard Rock & Metal playlists, and widespread press acclaim including Loudwire, HEAVY, BraveWords, The PRP, Substream, Medium, Ramzine, Rock N’ Load, and more.  2022’s “Let’s Go” also received adds on multiple playlists on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and Pandora. The “Let’s Go” video made several Top 10 lists for Video Of The Year.  Previously released songs include ‘Happened Again’, ‘Nothing But Now’ ; ‘Nicotine’; and ‘Fight For Your Right’ (Beastie Boys cover).

Celtic Rockers 1916 Release New Single “The Mollies” via TLG|ROCK

Celtic Rockers 1916 Release New Single "The Mollies" via TLG|ROCK

For Immediate Release

Celtic rock band 1916 has just unleashed their new single, “The Mollies,” available now via TLG | ROCK, distributed by Virgin Music Group. The track marks the first taste of the band’s forthcoming album. Produced by the acclaimed Ted Hutt, “The Mollies” comes to life with an infectious energy reminiscent of the early days of Celtic punk.

Frontman Billy Herring shares, “This new song is not only super catchy, but it’s super personal as well. Basically it’s a story told to me by my grandfather when I was young. So there’s this family connection that makes songs like these so great to listen to on a very basic level. Our producer Ted loved this song right from the jump and we are all stoked that this is going to be our first single!”

“Reminding me of the spirit of early days of Flogging Molly, it was a total blast working with Billy and the gang at the magical Sonic Ranch Studios in El Paso, TX.  Irish whiskey, history lessons, stories, and vintage guitars were the backdrop for the sessions that became the new 1916 album.  There was a first for me too, which was the challenge of recording a massive Celtic war pipe,” says Ted Hutt, the band’s Producer.

“The Mollies” is available now on all major streaming platforms.

WATCH The Mollies (OFFICIAL LYRIC VIDEO):

About 1916:

Hailing from upstate NY, Celtic rockers 1916 are an explosive concoction of the modern Irish Punk movement with an original mix of psychobilly which gives 1916 a sound that stands apart from other bands of the genre.

Starting as an acoustic duo in 2006, singer Billy Herring and original drummer Steve LaDue played the traditional Irish ballads of the Dubliners and Wolfe Tones in the local pubs in and around their home-town of Rochester, NY.  They decided to call themselves 1916 to get people interested in Irish history.  In 2010 they took the music to a new level with the addition of electric guitars, traditional instruments, and a full drum set.  Within a few months of trying their new sound, 1916 were opening for the likes of the Dropkick Murphys21 Pilots, and New Politics, among other national acts.

On St. Patrick’s Day of 2012, 1916 released their first studio album, A Drop of the Pure, to rave reviews.  That same year, 1916 became the first band from Rochester, NY to get their own Pandora station with the addition of their music to the Pandora genome project.  With their music now reaching a global audience, the boys would soon gain fans all over the world.

The following year, 1916 released their sophomore album, Stand Up & Fight.  This new album, featuring a collection of covers and originals, had a more polished sound than the raw punk feel of  A Drop of the Pure.  This new full length album also featured more traditional Irish instruments to give the new LP a fun and full sound.

As the band continued to evolve, they kept touring and playing as many shows as possible.  With bigger audiences came a larger fan base for 1916 to interact with.  The band has always enjoyed hanging out with the crowd both pre- and post- shows.

In November of 2014, the guys went back into the studio to begin recording their third album, Last Call for Heroes.  Released in December of 2015, Last Call for Heroes was met with great enthusiasm from critics.  Named one of the “best punk albums of 2016,” both home and abroad, the new album appeared to have given the band the momentum they needed to move forward.

Mandolin player Jon Kane joined the band in early 2016, just before the boys hit the road to join Flogging Molly on their Salty Dog Cruise.  After a whirlwind spring of touring through the Bahamas and Europe, Jon was just what the band needed as he brought his energetic and fun stage persona into the fold.

The sound had certainly become streamlined and unique, but it wasn’t until 2017 that upright bassist Ryan Hurley would join 1916 to give the band the final integral piece that gives the music its psychobilly flavor. Soon after Ryan joined the band, 1916 further expanded their sound by the addition of accordion player Sam Sarratori to the crew!

Then…Covid hit in 2020. The band had just settled into a groove where they were poised for a northeastern US tour alongside a new live album. All that had to be put on hold indefinitely until further notice. After a year on hold, Billy knew something needed to be done to get momentum going again for his band. With that in mind, he packed up and moved to Nashville TN in order to give the music of 1916 more visibility. It was around this time the band welcomed the thundering drums of Chad Paetznick to take over behind the kit.

1916 has since been picked up by TLG|ROCK for a distribution deal for not only their fifth full length studio album Revolutions, but for their sixth LP, titled Conscience of Kings. This new record is being produced by Grammy Award winning musician & producer Ted Hutt at the legendary Sonic Ranch Studios in El Paso Texas.

1916 is:
Billy Herring – Lead Vocals/Guitar/Banjo

Ryan Hurley – Upright Bass/Back-Up Vocals

Chad Paetznick – Drums

Sam Sarratori – Accordion/ Sunday Sauce

OSC Fan Newsletter Jan 2025

Welcome to the new year and hope you are all doing well in the world of insanity. While we try to all disappear into the world of music, where we are safe, the weather, the rulers of the world, are going mad and trying to take us all down with them… We will not put up with it so what can you expect from us in 2025???

The Collective met in Stockholm for a studio session that was pretty fun despite the cold, grim, dark weather. I flew in from Portugal, Jiri and Mogens came from Denmark, Christian (Yur Gagarin) came from Goteborg, and we met with Jonathan and Mattias at Roth Handle studios. Wespent the first two days making the soundtrack for a short, animated film. That was fun and co Then we started to jam. About 6hrs of material was recorded over the next two days. Some great
stuff as always and some new areas explored Sadly, the Relaxing in the Himalayas LPs were warped and had to be repressed, so they will not
come until the end of January.

The West Space and Love III LPs also had problems and had to be repressed. Links are below… Both are released on Space Rock Productions.

https://oresundspacecollective.bandcamp.com/album/relaxing-in-the-himalayashttps://drspace1.bandcamp.com/album/west-space-and-love-iii

In April, we hope to have the new double LP/2CD, Alotta Hella down in Estrela released on Space Rock Productions. The LP features 4 tracks (one is 50mins) and the CD contains 2 bonus tracks (38 mins) not on the LP. It was recorded in the 2022 session in Portugal and features Dr Martin Weaver (Wicked Lady), Luis Simoes (Saturnia), Tim Wallander (Ex-agusa, Ozric Tentacles), Hasse Horrigmoe (Tangle Edge), Jonathan Segel (Camper van Beethoven), Dr Space, Jiri, Mogens and Pär….

We will also release a film of us live in the studio recording Od
to a Black Hole on DVD with a new 5.1 surround sound mix by
Dr Space.. When I find time, I hope to mix some of our olde
records in 5.1 like The Black Tomato and Sleeping with the
Sunworm. April 11-12th, will be our 20th Anniversary shows and like our 10th anniversary show, we plan to have many different people playing the 4 different set that will be played, and we will have amazing light show of P&P from Germany (they do the lights at Fuzz Fest and other festivals). there will be an afterparty each night with the band til 2 and special merch, poster gallery, etc..
Please buy an advanced ticket…

In May we will play the Spaceboat in Hamburg for the 10th time. Wow. Amazing. Thanks to Sabine from Sapphire and Space Rock Productions for putting

Also coming in 2025 is the Kozfest 2023 DVD. I have to
apologise up front though as I fucked this one up and send
Ruben, who did the amazing video editing job of the show, the wrong mix of the audio so the audio is decent but our amazing drummer Tim is really buried in the mix. The upside is if you are bandcamp subscriber or buy the DVD, you will get the proper audio mix which sounds great.. Sorry, I fucked it up….

If you liked the more laid-back CD from last year, Espaço,  you would also dig, Espaço 2!!! This will be a band camp   subscriber CD and limited numbers will be available for the fans… I also expect the fans will get the multitrack recording of the Lygtens Kro gig as well (this was also   filmed) It is also possible; I get finished the DVD from Winter Jazz festival 2022 in Copenhagen.

https://oresundspacecollective.bandcamp.com/subscribe

We will likely also have another studio album out later in the year, either from the new session or one called  Probably you´re Wrong, from the 2022-23 sessions. We   will see..

We were trying to set up a tour in Sept down to Italy and back, but this has failed. IT is still possible we will do a weekend of gigs Sept 4-6th. We will see.  It is nearly impossible to set up a tour anymore. Sadly…

Who knows what else might pop up. Jonathan will have gigs with Camper van Beethoven in the USA this year, probably 10 more albums with Astral Magic and other cool collaborations. Dr Space, will have another Alien Planet Trip volume, perhaps another solo CD, Doctors of Space will have two CDs……

Interview with Irian Darkwood

Read Time:2 Minute, 2 Second

Interview with Irian Darkwood

1. What’s the name of the band/artist?

A: My name is Irian Darkwood

2. Where are you from?

I am from Halifax Nova Scotia, Canada

3. What type of music do you play?

I sing rock/metal music.

4. Introduce yourselves to the readers and tell us what you do?

My name is Irian Darkwood, I’m a Canadian metal/rock artist, I am a musician who
started out in karaoke, found my love for preforming there, and started making my own
music

5.This is probably a common question but one that most want to know, what musical
influences did you have growing up, and what are some now?

I actually had a lot of country influences growing up, but my biggest one was my father,
who loved music, had a huge collection of it, and we would always hear music in the house,
in the car, on road trips, he liked anything from Marty Robbins to Backstreet Boys

6.Have you always been into music? Was it something that just came to you
naturally?

I have been singing since I was quite small, I would always sing for people ( to their
annoyance lol), I remember my grandfather called me his ‘ little canary’, so the singing was
kind of a natural thing more or less, but I had to overcome serious shyness and anxiety (

Interview with Talk Radio

Thanks for taking some time to chat with From the Green Room

1. What’s the name of the band?
Talkradio.

2. Where are you from?

Melbourne, Australia.

3. What type of music do you play?

I’d say “alternative” or “indie” rock would be as close as you can get.

4. Introduce yourselves to the readers and tell us what you do in the band?

My name is Alex. I’m the only one in this project. I write all the music and lyrics,
perform all the vocals, play the drums, guitars, keys/piano and any other required
percussion, as well as create all the artwork for the CD releases.

5. This is probably a common question but one that most want to know, what musical
influences did you have growing up, and what are some now?

It’s a bit of a mix. To begin with, I learnt drums in my teens. My uncle was a great
drummer (mum’s cousin really) and he was a huge fan of people like Billy Cobham and
Ginger Baker. Through my own musical explorations, I added people like Neil Peart,
Virgil Donati and Danny Carey to that list (unbelievably I ended up becoming friends
with a singer who worked with Virgil and took my uncle to a gig). Once I started singing,
I was being inspired by people like Bruce Dickinson, John Farnham and, my ultimate
hero, Chris Cornell. These days, my influences are purely from a song writing
perspective. For years, my number one song writing influence has been Foo Fighters. I’m
a huge admirer of Dave Grohl’s ability to churn out melodic hooks like he has a
bottomless pit of ideas. Other influences include Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Radiohead and
The Beatles.

6. Have you always been into music? Was it something that just came to you
naturally?

I’ve been told I’ve always been musical. I used to drum in time to songs from the age of
3. Even so, music wasn’t my first artistic pursuit. I started as an actor at the age of 12. I
did quite a bit of theatre, TV and even a film over a period of 5 years. When I finished
high school and it was time to go to uni, my parents stopped supporting my acting
ambitions. They actively blocked my attempts, which was simple for them really. All
they had to do was stop driving me around to where I needed to go. By the time I got my
licence and was able to get around myself, my acting agency had been sold, I was no

longer on their books and my actors equity membership had expired. At this stage, I had
no drum kit at home either and was relegated to practicing on various pieces of furniture
in front of the stereo. At some point my cousin, who happened to be a great drummer,
invited me to watch his band at a rehearsal studio. It turned out they had no singer and
insisted I get on the microphone to give them a guide. It took a lot of convincing. They
kept asking me back every weekend. That’s how the singing began. Not long after that, I
joined a band and signed up for singing lessons.

7. What can we expect from the band in the rest of 2023 and beyond into 2024?

I’m currently working on my next recording. It will be a 5 track EP. I won’t be waiting to
do entire albums anymore.

8. For someone who wants to know more about the band, were can they find you at?
And where can they find your music?

Everything I have can be found on www.talkradioaus.com.au, including where you can
find my music. You can also follow on www.facebook.com/talkradio.aus.

9. Let’s answer some fun questions, what is your all time favorite band?

Soundgarden, with Foo Fighters and Pearl Jam close behind.

10. If you could tour with any band and open or have them open for you, who would
you choose?
Opening for Foo Fighters would be the pinnacle of anything I’d ever achieved. I don’t
think I’d even care if I didn’t get paid. That sounds so ridiculous that even typing that
answer is making me giggle.

Thanks for chatting with me From the Green Room and look forward to chatting
again in the future.
Thanks so much.
