What better way to spend a Wednesday evening than at the legendary Piere’s Entertainment
Center! Now reopened for over a year, they have brought the party back to Fort Wayne! This
night was no exception, with a solid lineup of 10 Years, Black Map, and VRSTY.
First up to take the stage was New York City’s R&B and post-hardcore infused band, VRSTY.
VRSTY is composed of Joey Varela [vocals], Javy Dorrejo [bass], Chris Cody [drums],
and Paul Gregory [guitar]. The band was formed in 2015 with their unique musical
fusion. Songs like “Sick” and “Shameless” got the crowd warmed up and rockin’! VRSTY
is a super high energy band that was running and thrashing all over the stage during
their set. With Joey’s melodic vocals and absolutely soul ripping drums and guitar,
VRSTY is a force to be reckoned with and you’ll likely see more from these guys in the
future.

Next up was San Fransico’s post-hardcore trio Black Map. The band consists of Mark
Engles [Guitar], Chris Robyn [Drums] and Ben Flanagan [Vocals/Bass]. The crowd was
getting warmed up and ready for the headliner 10 Years, and Black Map brought it home
with Ben’s strong and tantalizing vocals, Mark’s amazing guitar riffs and Chris’s supherb
drum action. Black Map would classify as a good ol’ heart thumping rock and roll band.

Finally, what the crowd had waited all night to see, 10 Years hit the stage. Hailing from
Knoxville, TN, the nearly 20 year old alternative hard rock trio is made up of Jesse Hasek
[vocals], Brian Vodinh [drums], and Matt Wantland [guitar]. Jesse came out sporting a
17th century plague doctor style white mask, which added a moody vibe to the set. He sang
several songs donning the mask, before it was ditched. The group had a 17 song set list
including hit tracks “Fix Me”, “The Unknown”, “So Long, Good-bye”, “The Shift”,
“Novacaine”, and “Wasteland”. Jesse was very engaged with the crowd, leaning out and
giving high-fives and fist-bumps, talking to the crowd in between songs. You could tell he
really loves the fans and enjoys the connection to the crowd. This night was an extra special
night as well, it was Jesse’s birthday. A birthday cake was even brought out on stage.
Hugs were given, glasses were raised and it was a cool celebratory moment. All in all, 10
Years is a very talented rock band that will have you singing along and banging your head if
you get the chance to catch one of their shows.

Save the World Tour with Fozzy, GFM, Krash Karma & Nocturnal Affair

0 0
Read Time:2 Minute, 34 Second

Fozzy currently on the Save the World Tour, with support from GFM, Krash Karma, and Nocturnal Affair made their long-awaited return to world famous Piere’s on Friday night, and Fozzy did not disappoint the crowd putting on a show that Fozzy fan’s will not soon forget.

The packed house also got treated to some kick ass support on the tour with Fozzy, and one of those bands might just have stolen the show on this night forging their place in the history of this epic venue.

Fozzy with new music, new band front man Chris Jericho walked out with cup in hand and a big smile excited to be back at Piere’s for the first time in a while. Bringing lots of energy and flare, opening their set with hit songs “Insane.” “Drinking with Jesus” and Painless off their current album Boombox.

Jericho and the rest of Fozzy sure gave the crowd at Piere’s their money’s worth on a chili Friday night.

Coming to the stage before Fozzy was GFM, rocking the stage in their trademark cheerleader outfits Maggie, CJ, and Lulu might have stolen the show on this night, not only did they rock the stage, but they can play their instruments as well, these sibling sisters might just be the next big thing in metal or as they have named their own type of metal, beautycore.

These girls can hang with the best of them when it comes to headbanging songs but are rising fast and might just become the new queens of metal in the future, and that they are blazing that trail at a fast pace in just a few years and are a must see if you have not yet, and if you have then you will want to see them live again and often.

GFM performed songs off their Operation Takeover Ep they poured their heart and soul into their set with “Bones,” “Selfish,” and “Smile”. GFM is set to release a new EP in May of this year.

Krash Karma a two-piece band reminiscent of the White Stripes surprised the crowd as they walked out playing a snare drum and a bullhorn yelling to the crowd “wake them up” which got the crown chanting along with them. They would bring the energy even though it was just the two of them.

Having not been out to play live in almost three years, the guys of Nocturnal Affair were excited to be on the stage playing for the crowd, and it would be like they had not missed a beat from not being able to play.

This was only the second stop on the Save the World Tour with plenty of more stops in possible towns near wherever you live, to see If the tour is going to be in your area or to see where you can find the music of any of the bands on this tour, you can find them on social media and all music streaming platforms.

The Lacs bring Dirt Rock to world famous Piere’s

0 0
Read Time:1 Minute, 0 Second

Country rap duo The Lacs took the stage at world famous Piere’s in Fort Wayne, Indiana on March 19, 2022, and to say they rocked the crowd would be an understatement.

Their music screams rough and rowdy, their stage Prescence is very chill. The crowd was ready with chants of “Lacs,Lacs,Lacs” as they were getting restless as there was some delays with the start time of the show.

Once they took the stage the crowd lit up, the boys opened with “Outlaw State of Mind” and followed that up with “Keep It Redneck” they would play many more hits to crowd of blue collar country boys and girls, even if you are not country, this show made you feel like you out in the sticks drinking that shine, and the Lacs made sure that they brought the party with them as they had a cooler full of ice cold beverages on stage with them, bringing that Dirt Rock with them and showing the crowd that a party can happen no matter where you are at.

To find out where The Lacs will be playing next, you can find them on most all social media platforms.

FORTUNE CHILD Releases Second, Classic Rock Gem Single, “Slow Down”!

0 0
Read Time:1 Minute, 31 Second

Debut LP, Close to the Sun, Out 3/1/2022!

February 3, 2022 – Jacksonville, FL based Rock band FORTUNE CHILD has released the sophomore single, “Slow Down.”. Showcasing their ’70s rock proficiency, the guitar driven track is off of the band’s upcoming, debut LP, Close to the Sun, which is produced by the legendary Kevin Elson (JourneyMr. BigEurope, and Lynyrd Skynyrd).

t’s no secret that these North Florida natives respect their Rock ‘N’ Roll elders. It’s the true feel of the 70’s (bell bottoms, mustaches and all) but with a touch of modern flair. Having just formed in 2021, Fortune Child (Christian Powers/ vocals, Buddy Crump/ lead guitar, Melanie Jo/ drums, Jon Ward/bass) has quickly garnered the support of the Southeast US Rock ‘N’ Roll scene and will continue to do so with each passing day. These cats know how to rock, and it seems that there’s no stopping them once those first notes rip through the air.

For 2022, the band has partnered with legendary rock producer Kevin Elson (Journey, Mr. Big, Europe, Lynyrd Skynyrd) to produce their full length debut album, Close to the Sun, due in early March. Their first single, “Far”, is already well on its way, having found its own rightful spot on Yahoo! News and has gathered press coverage in countries as far away as Australia and Russia. It even got a good old-fashioned thumbs up from Billy Gibbons himself and has turned the heads of some of the industry’s heaviest hitters. This sort of thing leads us all to wonder: What could come next for this brand new Rock ‘N’ Roll freight train?

ASHLEY McBRYDE EARNS THREE NOMINATIONS FROM
THE ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC

Read Time:5 Minute, 5 Second

Receives Nods for Female Artist of the Year,
Video of the Year + Music Event of the Year for “Never Wanted To Be That Girl”

Arkansas-Native Readies New Music To Be Announced Later This Year

McBryde’s Headlining Tour Continues Tonight at The Bluestone in Columbus, Ohio;
This Town Talks Tour On Sale Now at AshleyMcBryde.com

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – With multiple sold-out shows during the first leg of her 50+ dates on the This Town Talks Tour, including a milestone three-night headlining debut residency at Ryman Auditorium, Ashley McBryde continues her ascension in the format with three 2022 nominations from The Academy of Country Music, including her third nomination for Female Artist of the Year, Video of the Year and Music Event of the Year for “Never Wanted To Be That Girl,” her chart-climbing duet with Carly Pearce.

“What an honor to be recognized by our peers and the Academy. There’s nothing better than celebrating alongside all the powerhouse female artists in this category,” shares the three-time Female Artist of the Year nominee, “and what a treat to be nominated with my friend Carly for Video of the Year and Music Event of the Year on a song we wrote together. Thank you to the fans for listening to our stories and for sharing yours in return. These moments wouldn’t exist without you.”

In between tour dates, McBryde has been writing and recording new music to be announced later this year. Dubbed “one of the most empathetic songwriters of her generation” by NPR, the Arkansas-native has been dropping hints and sharing some behind-the-scenes photos from her time in the studio with her band Deadhorse on social media, encouraging fans to get excited for the first taste of new music in nearly two years.

As the follow-up to 2018’s breakthrough major-label debut Girl Going Nowhere, McBryde’s Never Will (Warner Music Nashville) was released to critical acclaim, earning a title early on in 2020 as one of the best albums of the year to-date by SPIN, Variety, Billboard, Paste, Esquire, Stereogum and American Songwriter, and ultimately receiving the title of Best Album from Nashville Scene’s 21st Annual Country Music Critics’ Poll.

The 11-track collection also earned a spot in the Top 20 of Rolling Stone’s all-genre “Best Albums of 2020,” celebrating the record as “this year’s most adventurous mainstream country album” while landing at No. 1 on Rolling Stone’s “Best Country and Americana Albums of 2020,” proclaiming it “re-creates the trick McBryde pulled off on her stellar debut: proving that honest-to-goodness country songs can have commercial appeal.”

“Never Wanted To Be That Girl,” McBryde’s duet with fellow nominee Pearce, continues to climb the charts at Country radio, currently in the Top 15 on the Country Aircheck chart and at No. 17 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart. The song was dubbed by Rolling Stone as a “spiritual descendant of Reba McEntire and Linda Davis’ classic ‘Does He Love You’” that “ditches the campy melodrama for a bracing jolt of regret and clarity,” while MusicRow sums it up with a similar sentiment: “In a word, sensational…For the love of country music, play this.”

McBryde headlined over 30 shows in 2021 along with supporting dates on Luke Combs’ What You See Is What You Get Tour. The This Town Talks Tour continues tonight at The Bluestone in Columbus, Ohio with Ashland Craft as support on the remaining shows. Additional dates and tickets are available at AshleyMcBryde.com.

About Ashley McBryde
Ashley McBryde cut her teeth playing country songs in rural biker bars – and it shows. Her 2018 major label debut Girl Going Nowhere (Warner Music Nashville) charmed the New York Times, NPR, Rolling Stone, Paste, The Washington Post, and more, all en route to landing a GRAMMY nomination for Best Country Album. McBryde closed out 2019 with ACM New Female Artist, CMT Breakout Artist of the Year, a New Artist of the Year win at the 53rd Annual CMA Awards and two nominations for the 2020 GRAMMYs for Best Country Song and Best Country Solo Performance for “Girl Goin’ Nowhere.” Her follow-up Never Will was tagged by Rolling Stone as one of the most anticipated of the year alongside NPR, who also ranked her Top 10 RIAA Platinum-Certified single “One Night Standards” as one of the best songs of 2019. Produced once again by Jay Joyce, Never Will reveals the witty, confessional, detail-driven songwriting addressing a wide spectrum of blue-collar Southern women’s experience introduced on Girl Going Nowhere is still here, but perhaps even sharper, earning McBryde a 2021 GRAMMY nomination for Best Country Album, making Never Will the only album nominated for Country Album of the Year by the ACMs, CMAs and the Recording Academy in the same award season. The music itself is stadium-ready rock-and-roll with a bluegrass wink or two and country music’s storytelling heart––and McBryde, no longer new, is the music’s ordained and highly capable standard bearer. Her duet with Carly Pearce, “Never Wanted To Be That Girl,” continues to climb the charts at Country radio in the Top 20. McBryde’s This Town Talks Tour is currently underway with stops across the U.S. before wrapping in April 2022. WALKER HAYES’ COUNTRY STUFF THE ALBUM DEBUTS TOP 10 ON BILLBOARD TOP 200 CHART

Read Time:2 Minute, 56 Second

NUMBER 1 COUNTRY ALBUM SALES

Hayes’ AFC Championship Game Performance Crashes Halftime Show

“Country Stuff” continues his streak of cutting genre-agnostic songs that
pull from real-life experiences” — Tennessean

Nashville, TENN. – It’s been a week since GRAMMY-nominated Walker Hayes released his highly-anticipated Country Stuff The Album, and like with his smash hit “Fancy Like,” he continues to have these pinch-me viral and critically acclaimed moments.

Country Stuff The Album officially debuted in the top 10 on Billboard’s Hot 200 Chart this week, and at No. 2 on the Billboard Country Albums Chart, while landing at No. 1 for country album sales.

The 13-song project showcases why fans love Hayes’ music. Featuring his signature witty lyrics, sticky melodies and autobiographical storylines, he doesn’t shy away from difficult topics. Hitting on sobriety, loss, love and country fun, the album was produced by Hayes with Joe Thibodeau and Multi-GRAMMY Award winner Shane McAnally.

In a week full of high moments, Hayes appeared on ABC’s Good Morning America to talk about the release, the music, and all it’s meant to him. He was also featured in the Tennessean, where he talked about his long journey to success, from moving to Nashville with his wife almost 20 years ago, working at Costco, and his lifechanging moment in a Smoothie King. The Tennessean writes, “If Nashville is a 10-year town, no one told Walker Hayes (and that’s ok by him).”

In the most unexpected moment of the week, Hayes found that he’d yet again gone viral after a performance at the halftime show of the AFC Championship game in Kansas City. After performing his set live to the 75,000-person crowd, including “AA,” “U Gurl,” and “Fancy Like,” Hayes got off stage to hundreds of texts, calls and memes about the show disrupting the halftime broadcast on CBS. Unbeknownst to him, his voice was heard across the country, as halftime hosts James Brown, Phil Simms, Bill Cowher, Nate Burleson and Boomer Esiason attempted to talk about the game, but were drowned out by the performance.

“As a massive sports fan I was so jacked to perform halftime at the game, I just couldn’t wait to get in the stadium,” says Hayes. “We didn’t think our performance would be broadcast — so to see what’s happened, I mean, you can’t make this up! I guess we made broadcast after all!”

Photos from the day and video from the halftime show HERE.

After a weekend of sold-out shows under his belt, Hayes continues The Fancy Like Tour next weekend in Chesterfield, MO.

About Walker Hayes
Monument Records recording artist, Walker Hayes, is a GRAMMY Nominated singer/songwriter originally from Mobile, Alabama. His album County Stuff The Album features single “AA” and smash hit “Fancy Like.” “Fancy Like” has topped every sales and streaming chart since its release, spending a collective 6 months and counting at the number one spot on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs. The song was featured in a national Applebee’s ad campaign and hit the top 5 on Billboard’s Hot 100 Songs.

The proud father of six has performed his music, including the Double-Platinum RIAA certified hit “You Broke Up With Me,” to national audiences on Good Morning America, Late Night with Seth Meyers, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and the TODAY Show, and was profiled for CBS Sunday Morning.
