Read Time:47 Second

‘Worms Of The Mind’ is the debut single from Amnesiak self named EP (2023). The music video was done by Award Winning Short Horror Filmmaker Matt Sears. The track has been mastered by a Platinum & Gold awarded Sound Engineer AKA Maor Appelbaum. The track features the stunning voice of Amnesiak’s singer and co-writer Grace Wilson and multi-instrumentalist, composer, Francesco Fonte. The Release of Amnesiak EP is to be announced soon.

At first hearing this track’s vocals made me think of an evanescence vibe, with bass notes and soft percussion, lead vocalist Grace Wilson brings her dark vocal talent to light with “Worms of The Mind” Grace takes you a journey of a women with Delusional Parasitosis Disorder, who loses touch with reality, and is trapped in horrible state. With every word you can almost see yourself as that woman and keeps you guessing on how it will end.

THE STONE EYE – NEW SINGLE/VIDEO
“NOT MY CIRCUS”
on Electric Talon Records
AVAILABLE EVERYWHERE!

Philadelphia, PA – The Stone Eye Release Their New Single “NOT MY CIRCUS”. The Stone Eye is that spot on the sun that burns a memory into each layer of immersive sound. Not to be placed in a box, their stylistic music continues to be released with “NOT MY CIRCUS”.

‘”Not My Circus”  was conceived following a couple of unique events- firstly, seeing Ween live and experiencing them absolutely shred my (Steve) face-off at the Met Theater in December of 2021, and my buddy Mike Matteson telling me that “You should write more songs in four with an easily identifiable rhythm”. Experiencing Ween live, had inspired me to try and write a song that was a bit out there for us style-wise, yet have it still maintain that Stone Eye sound and feel. Mike’s words definitely played a role in the songwriting process as well, as I tried not to veer too far off the deep end when it came to rhythmic experimentation within the riffs and keep it relatively grounded and (mostly) in four. Lyrically, it’s a jab at the whole indie/hipster world following some heat I received for my Doordash on tour comments in the twitter-verse. It’s about as autobiographical as I have ever been!” – Stephen Burdick

LA Goth Band- The God Bands Release “Black and Yellow”

0 0
Read Time:2 Minute, 49 Second
Los Angeles, CA – ‘“Black and Yellow” –  is the latest video in a series of collaborations between the God Bombs and LA-based Cinematographer/Director Jason Kaplan. The truth sometimes is best conveyed through music and art, both of which this collaboration between God Bombs lead vocalist – Justin Symbol, featured guitarist – Chris Lorraine, and Cinematographer Jason Kaplan has accomplished with their single “Black and Yellow”.
ABOUT “BLACK AND YELLOW”:   “The video explores the horror of corporate America, where talented humans are bled of their creativity and funneled into a meaningless “hive” system of work and drudgery. The concept began with the idea to have disgruntled office workers and an overbearing boss villain who would morph into some kind of bee creature with hives sprouting out of him. I like that it weaves a horror narrative with some elements of humor in the office environment, and of course, the band rocking out in the warehouse! It was helped along by some really great extras, friends of ours who showed up for the shoot in costume! (Humberto MezaDave Leon, and more).   Make-up artist, Autumn Lee, created great beehive prosthetics, and an actor friend ended up playing the Boss in an excellent performance. I spent days crafting the custom “beehive” guitar played by Chris Lorraine in the video. Later we added a band performance scene shot in an abandoned warehouse location that Jason found, thus finalizing an incredible video!   As well, a shout out to prop mistress Nichole Carillo who designed my glowing toxic “icicle” shaped microphone! We all hope you enjoy this collaboration as much as we do!”‘ – Justin Symbol, singer of The God Bombs

THE GOD BOMBS ARE: Justin Symbol – vocals West Rozen – bass Ania Thomas – guitar Byron Alvarez – drums + this song features special guest Chris Lorraine – lead guitar

Special thanks – to Director/Cinematographer Jason Kaplan who made this video possible! I am honored by how our ongoing collaborations continue to grow and expand in scope and talent! Also to Chris Lorraine who channeled the ghost of Mr. Daisy Berkowitz with his amazing guitar leads on that fateful full-moon night in Hollywood. And of course, God Bombs bassist West Rozen, who sparked it all by writing the initial bass lines and concept for this song! Last but not least Keoki Trask, the ultimate behind-the-scenes team player who added a really cool programming and production touch that brought this song to the next level! This has turned out to be an amazing collaboration and an exciting first step toward the era known as GΩDHEAD!

The God Bombs will be the Special Guests for Orgy on Friday March 24, 2023 at The Whiskey

From the Green Room Band of the Day-Freedivers

Read Time:2 Minute, 51 Second

Thanks for taking some time to chat with From the Green Room

1. What’s the name of the band?

1- Our band is called Freedivers!

2. Where are you from?

2- We are from Barcelona.

3. What type of music do you play?

3- We play alternative rock music, with a lot of grunge influences.

4. Introduce yourselves to the readers and tell us what you do in the band?

4- Erik: I am Erik and I am the band’s frontman. I sing and play the bass.
Rafa: My name is Rafa! And I am the rhythm guitar.
Ferran: I am Ferran, I am the solo guitar.
Jordi: I am Jordi and I play the drums.

5. This is probably a common question but one that most want to know, what musical
influences did you have growing up, and what are some now?

5-  When I was a kid I really enjoyed pop rock. I also listened to a lot of fantasy
movies’ BSOs growing up haha. Being a teenager I used to listen to bands like My
Chemical Romance and Paramore. I mainly listened to sad music, if I’m being honest! A
lot of catchy, great songs, as well. I soon discovered post-punk, grunge, alt-rock music…
Patti Smith, Jeff Buckley, Nirvana, The Doors are some of my references now.

6. Have you always been into music? Was it something that just came to you
naturally?

6- I’ve always loved art, in some way. When I was a kid I started to draw and was very
drawn to fantasy and cartoons. The deep love for music came I think a little bit more
gradually and found out it was great to expel my demons and monsters and express the
beauty I found along the way. And I basically learnt to play the guitar and sang every
single day. (Well I love to sing and I sing 24/7)

7. What can we expect from the band in the rest of 2022 and beyond into 2023?

7-  There are lots of things going on! We’ll be shooting new videos and releasing new
music that we are already working on. There’s a plan to make a little tour all around
Spain and a few other countries. Hope you watch our media so you stay tuned for fresh
information about concerts, songs and events!

8. For someone who wants to know more about the band, where can they find you?
And where can they find your music?

8- You can find us on Instagram! We regularly upload content and posts about our
events, concerts, rehearsals…
We are also in all major streaming services, like Spotify, Youtube, Pandora, Deezer,
Apple Music, Soundcloud…

9. Let’s answer some fun questions, what is your all time favorite band?

9-  Only one band? Impossible! There are bands that have been there all along the way.
Bands like Joy Division or Nirvana. My favorite sound is alternative rock, especially with
acoustic or ambiental bits.

10. If you could tour with any band and open or have them open for you, who would
you choose?

10- I love Mitski! She’s great and it would be awesome to open for her band. I found
out about her music a while ago and I resonate a lot with it.

Thanks for chatting with me From the Green Room and look forward to chatting
again in the future.

Band of the Day Questions

Thanks for taking some time to chat with From the Green Room

These questions have been answered by Matti Siekkinen.

  1. What’s the name of the band?

Segmentia

  • Where are you from?

Seinäjoki, Finland

  • What type of music do you play?

We call our music Pop Metal from the North. We are mixing pop music song structures with electric and symphonic elements to metal music. Our music tends to be a bit melancholic, but also hopeful!

  • Introduce yourselves to the readers and tell us what you do in the band?

Our current lineup is: Kansana – Vocals, Jere Luokkamäki – Drums, Arttu Vainiola – Guitar and Matti Siekkinen – Bass.

  • This is probably a common question but one that most want to know, what musical influences did you have growing up, and what are some now?

I got into metal music through listening to bands like Stratovarius, HIM, Iron Maiden and Children of Bodom, but there’s a good part of my teenage years where I got heavily into bands like Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, CCR and many other rock bands of that era. Until one day my friend introduced me to Opeth and Dream Theater so that sort of pulled me back to modern day music, haha. Talking about Opeth, lately I’ve been listening to a lot of Opeth again, but I’m not sure how they influence my writing. Not too directly at least, but the melodies and lyrics I come up with are influenced by just about every band/artist I like to listen to. I’m more interested and influenced by moods, themes and the overall feeling of the music that I listen to, so that kinda also shapes my criteria of what type of ideas I find “usable” when I write.

  • Have you always been into music? Was it something that just came to you naturally?

Pretty much yeah. The radio was always on at home playing music all day. I have some early memories of listening to Michael Jackson’s Thriller album on vinyl. It was my favorite record when I was around 5 or 6 years old, and I found it endlessly entertaining to switch the playback speed to make Michael sound like a cartoon character. There are no musicians in my family apart from my cousin, who plays guitar in a punk band, so I became sort of the black sheep of the family with my fascination to metal music and with passion to practice drumming hours up on end.

  • What can we expect from the band in the rest of 2022 and beyond into 2023?

We released our second EP called Alone just over a month ago, so we are currently playing some shows around Finland to promote that. Pretty soon though we’ll lock ourselves to our workspace and start finalizing writing our first full length album while doing some one off shows in between. We have some tour plans for the autumn, but we’ll let people know more about that a bit later. Beyond 2023 we hope to get to release some new music again as soon as we are able and then start touring outside of Finland as well!

  • For someone who wants to know more about the band, were can they find you at? And were can they find your music?

You can find us from all the major social media platforms, but we are probably the most active on Instagram. If you just want to learn more about the band in general, our website segmentia.net is the best place to start. As for the music, Spotify or Youtube are good places to check us out, though our music is available through all the major streaming platforms. And hey, perhaps we’ll find our way to your hometown one day to play a show!

  • Let’s answer some fun questions, what is your all time favorite band?

Ooohh this is a difficult question for sure! I have so many favorites and I’ve had so many of those “this is my favorite band now and forever” bands, until I come across another band that I like even more! Well, if I approach this from the angle of what are some of the bands that have stuck with me the longest and which I still often listen to these days too, it’s a close tie between Opeth and Dream Theater, but please don’t make me choose just one, haha!

  1. If you could tour with any band and open or have them open for you, who would you choose?

I would love us to be able to open for Pain or Amorphis one day! I think we would fit the bill very well and we could learn a lot from either of the bands.

Thanks for chatting with me From the Green Room and look forward to chatting again in the future.

Thank you for the interview! Stay (pop) metal!
